ChemLok Chain-On-Edge Conveyor Bond Lines

Precision-Engineered for Rubber-to-Metal Adhesive Applications

Rubber-to-metal bonding requires tight thermal control, consistent motion, and dependable equipment. Our Chain-On-Edge (COE) Conveyor Systems are purpose-built for ChemLok® primer and adhesive lines, delivering repeatable, high-yield performance in demanding environments.

Typical ChemLok Bond Line Layout

  1. Load Station (manual or automatic)

  2. Preheat Oven – 120–200°F, approx. 4 minutes

  3. Primer Application – Spray booth with continuous spindle rotation

  4. Primer Drying Oven – 120–200°F, approx. 2 minutes

  5. Adhesive Application – Spray booth with continuous spindle rotation

  6. Adhesive Drying Oven – 120–200°F, approx. 4 minutes

  7. Unload Station (manual or automatic)

Both primer and adhesive are applied using spindle rotation inside spray booths to ensure full, even coverage. Heating zones can be electric, gas, steam convection, or infrared.

Why Our COE Systems Work So Well for ChemLok

  • Stable, Wobble-Free Spindle Rotation
Designed to handle heavy, tall, or off-balanced parts with smooth, consistent motion.

  • Also Ideal for Small Parts
Our smaller series conveyors are perfect for small parts, and many users fixture multiple parts per spindle to boost throughput.

  • Flexible Heating Options
Thermal zones support electric, gas, steam convection, or IR heat sources.

  • Manual or Automated Load/Unload
Determined by part design, size, and handling requirements.

  • Continuous or Indexing Operation
Choose continuous running for very high production rates, or indexing mode for optimized fluid transfer, dwell time, and integration with spray automation.

  • Integrated Spray Booths + Coating Equipment
We supply complete spray booths, spray guns, fluid handling systems, and robotic application options using explosion-proof spray robots—engineered for ChemLok compatibility and capable of coating internal diameters (ID), outer diameters (OD), or both.

  • Custom Fixtures and Part Holders
Designed to support consistent coating, masking, and stable part transfer.

  • Compact, Modular Layouts
Fits tight floor plans and scales with your production needs.

Advanced Control Features Built In

Our ChemLok® bond line systems include advanced controls that give your team full command of the process, from production to maintenance:

  • Variable Production Rates – Adjust conveyor index timing to match line speed

  • Adjustable Spindle Rotation Speeds – Optimize coating performance for each part

  • Precision Temperature Controls – Manage heat zones with real-time feedback

  • Recipe Management System – Store and recall settings for repeatable results

  • Fault Detection & Alarming – Monitor for chain jams, air loss, over-temp, and more

  • HMI Maintenance Screens – Diagnose issues, test devices, and check sensor status

  • Access-Level Control – Operator, Maintenance, and Engineering screens for secure, role-based access

  • Production History Reporting – View performance by day, hour, or part for quality control and traceability

  • Part-Present Spray ActivationPost sensors ensure spray guns only fire when a part is properly fixtured

  • Primer Verification Sensors – Detect and validate that primer has been applied before adhesive coating

All systems are PLC-based and can integrate with your plant’s SCADA or MES platforms.
